A story of a tooth: From a restoration to an implant. Which one is complication-free?
When it comes to dental restorations, many users often think in extremes. Minimally invasive procedures are frequently promoted as "the only true solution," but for larger defects, this is not realistic. In such cases, more invasive procedures are often considered, including implant-supported restorations in many instances.
The progressive shift towards minimally invasive dentistry is evident. The ultimate goal is to preserve as much tooth structure as possible and extend pulpal vitality. But what is the evidence for IPS e.max restorations? And how reliable is minimally invasive dentistry?
This presentation will review the findings of clinical studies on the survival rates of complete and partial coverage restorations made from lithium disilicate glass-ceramic, along with insights into their long-term behavior. The influence of the restoration type on the need for endodontic treatments will also be addressed. Additionally, the decision-making process between restoration and extraction will be discussed, as well as the available alternatives over time. Furthermore, you'll receive tips on how to avoid problems with implant-supported restorations, as implants are not always a complication-free final solution.
In this webinar, you will learn more about the following subjects:
• Comparison of full and partial crowns made from lithium disilicate in relation to endodontic treatments
• Benefits of minimally invasive approaches
• Durability of lithium disilicate restorations (even in patients with severe wear)
• Clinical factors that influence the need for endodontic treatments
• Potential complications with implants and how to avoid them.
